This was announced by the private economic research institute BAK Basel Economics in a new survey about
the economic attractiveness of European business locations. According to the BAK Attractiveness Index,
the Zurich business region bested 191 European business locations, among them 22 metropolitan economic
regions.
Zurich achieved an outstanding performance for indicators such as taxation (for individuals and
businesses), access (globally and on the European continent), regulation (labor market, product
registration) and innovation (patents, publications, Shanghai Index). Found to have the highest
economic appeal to individuals and companies, Zurich managed an index score of 116 points, ahead
of London (114) and Copenhagen (113). Other regions surveyed by BAK included Amsterdam, Barcelona,
Berlin, Brussels, Dublin, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, Geneva, Helsinki, Lyon, Madrid, Milan, Manchester,
Munich, Oslo, Paris, Rome, Stockholm, and Vienna. |
