Little corruption in Switzerland

Switzerland again belongs to those countries that are almost corruption-free.

According to the 2008 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), which is published annually by Transparency International, Switzerland ranks in a top position. With a CPI score of 9.0, it ranks 5th behind Denmark, Sweden, New Zealand, and Singapore. Within Europe, Switzerland takes 3rd place.

Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index measures the perceived levels of public sector corruption in a given country. It is a composite index, drawing on different expert and business surveys. The 2008 index scores 180 countries on a scale from 0 to 10; 0 indicating the highest level of perceived corruption and 10 the lowest level.
