World Travel Award 2006 for Zürich
Airport and Swiss International Air Lines

For the third consecutive time, Zürich Airport has won the World Travel Award for Europe's Leading Airport.
|
Nomination criteria are extensiveness of sales activities in the tourism industry, passenger friendliness,
and the quality of products and services.
Swiss International Air Lines also featured prominently in the World Travel Awards. This was the fourth
successive year that Swiss has been named Europe's Leading Airline – and the second time that it has
garnered Europe's Leading Business Class Airline distinction. Swiss was further voted the World's Leading
Economy Class Airline for the first time.
The World Travel Awards were established in 1993 to honour service excellence in travel and tourism.
This years World Travel Awards were selected on the basis of input from more than 167,000
travel-and-tourist-sector specialists from 200 different countries.
In another survey in March 2006 Zürich Airport was ranked 2nd best within Europe by the worldwide airport
association. Zürich Airport's recently renovated terminal facilities have continued to improve within the
past few years to increased passenger satisfaction. Efficiency, processing, and a well balanced range of
facilities were reasons cited for the Airport's high ranking.
