retains 2nd place in the WEF Global Competitiveness Report Like last year, Switzerland has been ranked second in the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Report. Zurich is Europe's most attractive economic region According to the BAK's survey, Zurich has been named Europe's most attractive economic region. Switzerland – the most competitive economy in Europe Switzerland was named the most competitive economy of Europe in the IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook 2008. However worldwide, Switzerland ranks fourth. Switzerland among the most innovative countries Switzerland continues to be among the world's most innovative countries. According to the 2007 report of the European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS), Switzerland ranks 2nd behind Sweden followed by Finland, Israel, Denmark, and Japan. Switzerland number one on 2008 Environmental Performance Index Switzerland tops the global list of countries ranked by environmental performance, according to the 2008 Environmental Performance Index (EPI), published by a team of environmental experts at Yale and Columbia Universities. Switzerland ranks 9th in 2008 Index of Economic Freedom Switzerland is among the top countries in the 2008 Index of Economic Freedom, published by The Heritage Foundation and the Wall Street Journal. High quality of service at Zurich airport According to the «Airport Service Quality Awards 2007», presented by «Airports Council International», Zurich airport is one of the most customer-friendly airports in the world. |
